I notice BTH offers an avalanche of programming clearly inspired by a few too many glasses of holiday cheer, and continues to hold out his pitiable hope that he will not be ground to dust under the ratings juggernaut that is the Tony Television Network. Let's see what he has for us this week...

"Searching for Hope" -- An interesting premise that might have a limited appeal, this show will live and die by its writing, due to its journeyman cast. I can't help but notice he continues his desperate attempt to raid the files of "Once and Again"'s casting director.

"Holy Orders" -- This show will die a quick death against TTN's upbeat teen-fuelled crowd-pleaser "Subpoena!" As if we don't get enough bad news from Iraq on a daily basis, we have to suffer Scott Bairstow's attempts at emoting as well?

"Abraham's Lot" -- If ever a show would collapse under its own weight, this over-hyped clunker is it. Shamefully, BTH tries to cash in on the glory that was "Homicide: Life on the Street" by roping in three (!) former cast members. Your desperation is showing, BTH.

"Boss Man" -- The implausible premise alone signals rough seas for this offering, and its timely demise will provide a welcome release to the lovely Alicia Witt, sadly wasted in yet another "workplace comedy." Enjoy Ryan Reynolds while you have him, BTH, because this rising star will soon be out of your league.

"24-7" -- It's "Alice" gone multicultural. May generate lukewarm ratings, but will never sizzle, in my expert evaluation. These shows are a clear concession to the superiority of the Tony Television Network and our dominance of Thursday nights.

"Duke" -- BTH continues to make my case that he is a one-trick pony with these endless "workplace comedies." Another uninspired dud from the BTH assembly line, this one features a cast of nobodies to boot. And the premise -- if Eric Bogosian were alive today, he'd be spinning in his grave.

"Rocky Road" -- BTH relies on typecasting to fuel this pale imitation of "Clerks," counting on viewers' fond memories of "Family Ties." Sorry to say Scott Valentine has since grown up and gotten a haircut, so it's pretty pathetic to see him trying to rely on long-dead successes of the ancient past instead of blazing new trails into the future. But if he wanted to do that, he would work for the Tony Television Network instead.

"DWB" -- BTH once again puts his faith in a worn-out formula. The "medical drama" is already looking pretty warmed-over, and this will surely be the final nail in the coffin. Give it a rest.

Friday night -- This is your much-ballyhooed "TGIF" lineup? Sheesh. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. These "Nick-at-Night" rejects may play on some obscure cable channel, but you're in the big leagues now, BTH. Back to the drawing board.

Saturday night -- Ideas. Everybody's got 'em. Nobody wants 'em. Flesh out these premises if you want to compete with the Best TV Network Ever -- TTN!!!
